06/18/2007 08:44 - Message in a Bottle (from Cousin Jon #3)
Here is a weekend report from Cousin Jon #3 who travelled to the Metrodome for the weekend:
I don't know about you, but I definitely listened to The Police when I woke up this morning. Here are three reasons why I did and maybe you should have: #1. The Brewers almost stole the wins right out of the T-w-i-n-s this weekend. #2. I can't, I can't... I can't stand losing. and #3. YOVANI GALLARDO.
I'll come back to that last one in a minute, but first I'd like to congratulate Brewers fans for a baseball weekend in Minnesota. The Brewers obviously did their part, taking two of three from the defending AL Central Champs, but the fans stepped up nicely to support the Crew. Saturday night's "Let's Go Brewers" chants were easily the loudest I've ever heard Brewer's fans outside of Milwaukee. Other classics from Saturday night include a life-sized Brett Favre poster, and the state flag of Wisconsin also made an appearance. Perhaps a synonymous relationship there?
We skipped Sunday's game to make it back for a Father's Day dinner, but listening to Ueck on La Crosse's 580 AM, it was difficult to tell whether it was a home game or road game for the Crew. Especially during Prince's inside the park home run... Which Uecker talked about as one of the most memorable moments in his broadcasting career. It was great to listen to.
Even though the Crew came up short last yesterday, it was still a great momentum builder heading into a nice home stand and has to give the team confidence for today's game with YO-VANI. Wooo!
